My Way - A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra

Conceived and Created by David Grapes and Todd Olson

Original Book by Todd Olson

Arrangements by Vince di Mura

My Way gathers 55 songs associated with Frank Sinatra into a musical revue about falling in love, getting your heart broken, and finding your footing again. Four performers share the music, supported by a jazz trio, with arrangements that move between swinging ensemble numbers and quieter moments of reflection. “Fly Me to the Moon,” “The Best Is Yet to Come,” “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” and the title song are among the standards featured. David Grapes and Todd Olson’s tribute captures the wit and romantic sensibility of the Great American Songbook, opening TLP’s season with music that has accompanied generations of first dances, late nights, and big bands.

Dear Evan Hansen

Book by Steven Levenson

Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

For Evan Hansen, an ordinary school day in his one stop-light midwest town can feel impossible. He struggles to connect with his classmates and wishes he could find a place to belong. After a fellow student dies, a letter draws Evan into the life of the student’s family. What begins as a misunderstanding becomes a story that people desperately want to believe, and Evan’s new friendships depend on keeping the truth out of sight. Dear Evan Hansen follows the growing distance between the person Evan is and the person everyone thinks they know. With songs including “Waving Through a Window” and “You Will Be Found,” this six-time Tony Award winner, including Best Musical, examines the need for connection and the difficult work of being honest while growing up.

Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors

By Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen

There is a mysterious illness in the Westfeldt household, and the doctor they need happens to hunt vampires. Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist Doctor Jean Van Helsing to help Lucy’s sister Mina, setting off a pursuit of a Count Dracula with considerable charm and very little restraint. Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen turn Bram Stoker’s Gothic story into a farce full of mistaken identities, rapid character changes, and romantic complications. A small ensemble takes on a crowded world of nervous visitors, unlikely heroes, and supernatural trouble. Drawing on the comic spirit of Mel Brooks and Monty Python, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors trades solemn vampire lore for an inventive chase in which even the experts struggle to keep up.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Based on the Comic Strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz

Book, Music and Lyrics by Clark Gesner

Additional Dialogue by Michael Mayer

Additional Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa

Charlie Brown is trying to have a good day. There is a kite to fly, a baseball game to win, and a book report that will not write itself. Around him, Lucy offers advice nobody requested, Linus holds tight to his blanket, Sally works out her own rules, and Snoopy waits for supper. Based on Charles M. Schulz’s Peanuts comic strip, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown finds comedy in the small things that can feel enormous when you are growing up. Songs including “The Kite,” “Suppertime,” and “Happiness” bring these everyday adventures together. Good grief! It’s You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!

Camelot

Book and Lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner

Music by Frederick Loewe

Original Production Directed and Staged by Moss Hart

Based on The Once and Future King by T.H. White

Book Adapted by David Lee

New Orchestrations by Steve Orich

King Arthur imagines a kingdom governed by justice, where strength serves the people rather than ruling them. With Guenevere beside him and the Knights of the Round Table united around that idea, Camelot begins to take shape. Then Guenevere and Arthur’s trusted knight Lancelot fall in love, leaving all three caught between private feelings and public responsibilities. Lerner and Loewe’s musical asks what happens to an ideal when the people who believe in it cannot live up to it. Based on T.H. White’s The Once and Future King, the story is carried by songs including “If Ever I Would Leave You,” “The Lusty Month of May,” and “Camelot.” Experience a true golden age classic at TLP!ensing Credit:

Misery

By William Goldman

Based on the Novel by Stephen King

After a car crash leaves novelist Paul Sheldon badly injured, Annie Wilkes takes him into her remote home to recover. A former nurse and an enthusiastic reader of his books, she seems to offer exactly the care he needs. Then she reads his latest manuscript and discovers what he has done to her favorite character. Annie has a demand: Paul will write another book, and this time the story will go her way. Unable to leave, he must learn how to manage the person who controls his recovery and his future. William Goldman’s stage adaptation of Stephen King’s novel builds suspense through the shifting balance between writer and reader. The irate Annie has Paul writing as if his life depends on it… and it does.
