Dear Evan Hansen

Book by Steven Levenson

Music and Lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul

For Evan Hansen, an ordinary school day in his one stop-light midwest town can feel impossible. He struggles to connect with his classmates and wishes he could find a place to belong. After a fellow student dies, a letter draws Evan into the life of the student’s family. What begins as a misunderstanding becomes a story that people desperately want to believe, and Evan’s new friendships depend on keeping the truth out of sight. Dear Evan Hansen follows the growing distance between the person Evan is and the person everyone thinks they know. With songs including “Waving Through a Window” and “You Will Be Found,” this six-time Tony Award winner, including Best Musical, examines the need for connection and the difficult work of being honest while growing up.
