Youth & Local Auditions

At Local Auditions, TLP is casting:

  • ONE child (unpaid) for the role of Chip in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
  • ONE male child age 10 to 12 (unpaid) for the role of Nathan (12 years old) in THE FULL MONTY
  • TWO female children ages 8 to 12 (unpaid) for the roles of Shprintze & Bielke in FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
  • FOUR ADULT ACTORS (unpaid) for small roles in BORN YESTERDAY
  • FOUR teens (unpaid) for the dance ensemble in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST & FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
  • Up to TWELVE ADULTS (unpaid) for the ensembles of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST & FIDDLER ON THE ROOF
  • AUDITIONS FOR ALL FOR OF THESE PRODUCTIONS WILL BE HELD ON FEBRUARY 17th in MOUNT CARROLL. To register for auditions:
  1. Please review dates, audition preparation and time requirements for productions (BELOW)
  2. Be sure you are available for auditions
  3. Email info@timberlakeplayhouse.org with the subject line: “Local Auditions” or call the Administrative Office at (815) 244-2048.  Please include the full name of the person auditioning, parent or guardian names if under 18, time frame that they are available to audition on the 17th and WHICH PRODUCTIONS AND ROLES THEY WILL BE AUDITIONING FOR.
  4. You will receive a reply with an appointment time to come in on the 17th. The reply will also have the audition location and any additional information you’ll need for the auditions.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Casting: Chip; seeking outgoing young person who is a strong singer.

Casting: 4 Ensemble Children 

Casting: 4 teens who are exceptional dancers & up to 6 adult singer/actors

Performers must all prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars). Songs in the style of the show are encouraged. Auditionees will be asked to attend a dance audition. Adults may be asked to read from the script

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals (May 25 – June 5) and performances (June 6 – 17).

 

THE FULL MONTY

Casting: Nathan Lukowski – Jerry’s young son. 12. Range: age appropriate. “12 years old going on forty” but young-looking for his age. Nathan can be stoic, sincere, and charming, but ultimately real as he deals with his parents’ custody battle. Key player who does a lot of witnessing. PARENTS: Please watch the original movie and find an opportunity to read the musical’s entire script BEFORE your young man auditions. The movie is Rated R for language and differs from the play in significant ways. The script for the play is available from the library, book stores, or Amazon.com. Nathan sees and hears adult-themed content. This role is strictly for a young male performer: no girls auditioning as boys.

Performers must all prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars). Songs in the style of the show are encouraged.  Boys auditioning for the role of Nathan will also have a dance call.

 

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

Casting: Shprintze & Bielke are the youngest daughters of Tevye and Golde. They are considerably younger than the three matchmaker daughters. They only have a few lines but are featured in quite a few scenes. They don t need to be strong singers or actresses but should be confident onstage.

Casting: 4 Ensemble Children

BORN YESTERDAY

Casting: 3 – 4 small roles.  Performers must prepare a monologue and may be asked to read from the script.

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals (June 8 – 20) and performances (June 21 – 30).
