Youth & Local Auditions


TLP is casting:

  • TWO children (unpaid) for MARY POPPINS
  • TWO to THREE ADULT ACTORS (paid) for lead roles in AH, WILDERNESS!
  • ONE boy approximately 12 years old (unpaid) for AH, WILDERNESS!
  • FIVE TO EIGHT children and/or teens (unpaid) for CAROUSEL
  • Up to FIVE ADULTS (unpaid) for the ensemble of CAROUSEL
  • Teens (unpaid) for an all-youth production of GREASE

AUDITIONS FOR ALL FOR OF THESE PRODUCTIONS WILL BE HELD ON MARCH 25th in MOUNT CARROLL. To register for auditions:

  1. Please review dates, audition preparation and time requirements for productions (BELOW)
  2. Be sure you are available for auditions
  3. Email info@timberlakeplayhouse.org with the subject line: “Local Auditions.” Please include the full name of the person auditioning, parent or guardian names if under 18, and WHICH PRODUCTIONS THEY WILL BE AUDITIONING FOR.
  4. You will receive a reply with an appointment time to come in on the 25th. The reply will also the audition location and any additional information you’ll need for the auditions.

 

MARY POPPINS

Casting Jane and Michael Banks

Performers must all prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars). Songs in the style of the show are encouraged.

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances. (see below)

  • Friday, May 19: 4:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 20: 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 21: 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday – Friday, May 23-25: 4:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 27: 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, May 28: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Monday, May 29: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 30: 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Performances (children will be called 1 hour prior to the start time):

AH, WILDERNESS!

CASTING:

Nat Miller The head of the Miller household, father of four, and the owner of a local newspaper, Nat Miller, is a warm, wise, and understanding man. 40-50. Paid Lead Role. Email casting@timberlakeplayhouse.org with questions.

Essie  Nat’s wife, Essie Miller, is 40-50 years old and the mother of four. Paid Lead Role. Email casting@timberlakeplayhouse.org with questions.

David McComber  Muriel’s father, David McComber he is a local businessman who advertises in Nat’s newspaper. He is a “thin, dried-up little man.” Paid Supporting Role (Will not be called for all rehearsals) Email casting@timberlakeplayhouse.org with questions.

Tommy The youngest child in the Miller family, Tommy is eleven years old and bursting with energy. Unpaid. Small Role. (Will not be called for all rehearsals) Email casting@timberlakeplayhouse.org with questions.

Performers must all prepare a monologue (about one minute). You may be asked to read from the show.

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals and performances. (see below)

Rehearsals

  • June 2-15. Rehearsals are generally everyday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with possible rehearsals for Lead Roles in the evenings. Tech rehearsals are all 10 a.m to 10 p.m. and are June 12-14. Meals will be served when called over lunch or dinner.

Performances (will be called 1 hour prior to the start time):

  • Thursday, June 15 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, June 16 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 17 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 18 at 2:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 20 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Friday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 24 at 7:30 p.m.

 

CAROUSEL

Casting 4-5 Ensemble Children & 1-3 teens who are exceptional dancers & up to five adult singer/actors

Performers must all prepare a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars). Songs in the style of the show are encouraged. Teens may be asked to attend a dance audition. Adults may be asked to read from the script

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals (July 14-27) and performances (July 27-Aug 6).

 

GREASE

Casting Teens (junior high-college age)  for one of the most popular American musicals of all time. 

NOTE: Grease contains raunchy teen language and behavior. This is a full production of the original script, not a revised version. Parental discretion is advised.

Performers should prepare a short (one minute at the most) monologue appropriate for teens and a song to sing with an accompanist (no more than 32 bars) in the style of the show. They may sing from the show.

Must be available for all scheduled rehearsals (Evenings and weekends, June 2-July 4) and performances (July 3 (evening) & July 6-8 (afternoons)).
