TIMBER LAKE PLAYHOUSE RESPONDS TO CONCERNS REGARDING CORONAVIRUS

COVID-19 UPDATE (April 11, 2020)

Information surrounding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic is changing daily.  Your TLP Management Team is working to assure that all things are being taken care of during the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order.

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard about several other theatres that have suspended their Summer Season are closing their doors for this summer.  We want you to know that we will continue to monitor the crisis, develop procedures in light of the crisis, follow the direction of our leaders and open the theatre as soon as safely possible. Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our employees as well as our many patrons who typically interact with us during the season.

Presently, the TLP campus is closed and our staff is working from home. Our Box Office is not open as originally planned, but staff is answering Box Office and other phone messages and all tickets are still being sold online.

On March 31, Governor Pritzker extended our Stay at Home order through April 30.  This will necessitate additional cancelations and postponements at Timber Lake Playhouse.  The following events have been affected by this order:

  • April 4 Friend’s Trivia Night – POSTPONED
  • April 18 Rosie and the Rivets Concert – POSTPONED
  • April 26 Local Auditions POSTPONED
  • May 1–3 Teen Show Auditions – POSTPONED
  • May 2 Celebrity Chef – POSTPONED
  • May 5 – 9 Magic Tree House production – CANCELLED
  • May 9 Chicago Experience Concert – POSTPONED

Staff is meeting daily and continuing to make contingency plans looking and many options for start dates. Whether we start with the Summer Kick-Off party and the Beach Boy’s Concert on May 23 or push back to a mid-summer start, we remain committed to all meeting at Our Theatre in the Woods as soon we can.  If we all continue to follow the CDC’s “Slow the Spread” guidelines and the Governor’s “Stay at Home” order, we’ll soon be able to Come for the Show, and Stay for the Experience!
