Class Title: ZoomStories

Course Description:  Zoomstories with Ms. Mariah features a themed set of activities based on a different story each week! We will explore vocabulary, world languages and interpersonal skills through theatre based warmups, discussions, singalongs and more!

Class title: Peewee Puppet Camp!

Course Description: Throughout the duration camp, our young puppeteers will learn about Body puppetry and discover how puppetry can be found everywhere – especially at home!

Course Description:  TLP’s Performance Workshops focus on developing strong performance skills, while emphasizing self-confidence, self-expression, creativity, concentration, self-esteem, individual style, public speaking, and group cooperation skills leading up to a performance.  Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their acting, vocal performance, and/or dancing skills.

  • Kid Detectives(focus on acting, writing, and directing): Calling all inspectors, detectives, and mystery-solvers! Something’s afoot at Timber Lake Playhouse and we need YOU to help us solve the mystery. Follow in the footsteps of Jada Jones, Nate the Great, Goldie Blox, Encyclopedia Brown, and the Boxcar Children to collect clues, follow suspicions, and draw conclusions. At the end of the week, we will bring our showcase audience along on a mystery and help them figure out—WHODUNIT?
  • PopStar Party (focus on singing and dancing): Dancing with Timberlake, getting creative like Taylor, or belting out Bruno, we are taking it a step further and adding a story to our favorite tunes. Inspired by Kidz Bop, RadioDisney, and other avenues of kid-appropriate pop music, TLP teaching artists will work with students to adapt music from popular musicians to create unique and original musical stories for the stage. The week concludes with a performance of the music for families and friends.

Course Description: ZoomStage is an introduction to stage acting and features theatre games, exercises and selected monologues and plays! Students will learn text from various contemporary plays and poems with the final project of creating and performing their own monologue.

Course Description: Get ready to have fun this summer at Timber Lake Playhouse! We focus on games, tell hilarious jokes and work together as a team. We learn the super power of “Yes, and!” and how that can help make school easy and playing with friends more fun.

Course Description:  In this workshop we break things down a little differently and focus more on collaboration and team building. Course Description: Comedy is what we all need right now and Improv is a wonderful break from the stress surrounding all of us. Improvisation promotes working together, risk taking, confidence and it’s also a blast. This class will be a series of structured improv and theatre games focusing on conflict, situation, and characterization. Class Title: Basic Monologue Exploration

This course is limited to 30 participants
Course Description: To explore and practice effective ways of performing monologues, both for professional performance and for the audition room. This class will work on comedic and dramatic monologues from both classical and contemporary texts. Students should be prepared to choose and memorize performance pieces, study them critically, explore them in performance, submit and discuss their work. This class will be a safe place to share our work, fail, try again, and learn how to succeed!

Class Title: Introduction to Screenwriting: from Concept to Pitching the Script

Course Description: In this workshop, students will understand the  journey from concept to pitching.  How to Identify a concept.  How to Develop it. The importance of Index Card Plotting.  How to write the dialogue, Show Bibles and how and where to Pitch your script.
