As we prepare all of our end of year reports and letters to our patrons, we look back fondly on a great 2018 season. It was the first season for our new Artistic Director, Paul Stancato. Paul treated us to his directorial style with Beauty and the Beast and The Full Monty and we were not disappointed. We set several attendance records with Beauty and the Beast total run, Fiddler on the Roof single day sales and total tickets for all shows and events that topped 28,000. Add that to a great first year for our Deck Series and activities in The Barn and 2018 was, in a word – FANTASTIC!!
We especially enjoyed being mentioned in the River Cities’ Reader’s “Faves in Fives 2018” Highlights from the Year in Area Theatre. Fiddler on the Roof received mention in the Production category. “…this unforgettable story was executed beautifully; from start to finish, the audience was delightfully entertained.” Trevor Vanderzee was mentioned in the Lead Actor category for his role in The Full Monty. “This rowdy production was enhanced by Vanderzee’s machismo vocals and reliable comedic timing, making Jerry a priceless low-rent Chippendale.” Ben Senneff received mention in the Featured Actor category in Forever Plaid as a “multi-talented young actor who can do impersonations, play the piano, and belt a song like nobody’s business.” In the Music and Sound category, Sound Designer Jacob Almanzar and Music Director Lena Gabrielle received honors for their work in The Full Monty. “…their partnership really put the ‘full’ in the Monty.” And finally, in the Memorable Moment category, The Hound in Baskerville received mention. Many of our guests took advantage of the opportunity to stroll around the grounds on our newly made trails and stop by The Deck Bar for a meal before the show.
TLP has a lot of great ideas for patrons next season. Watch our blogs for all the great activities next season.
