Timber Lake Playhouse offers educational workshops for children and teens using the theatrical arts as a tool to motivate and extend learning in other content areas.
This past season, TLP offered the following programs:
Week Long Teen Theatre Project
10 AM-4 PM daily
$150 per student
A weeklong theatre workshop for teens (ages 12 and up) will take place next summer at TLP. This five day immersive experience will feature workshops in acting, dance and music, improvisation, playwriting, theatre design, and how to audition for schools and professional shows. The cost of the five-day workshop is $150 and includes daily lunch and a ticket to one of TLP’s 2017 productions to be named later. The week concludes with a performance for families and friends.
Children’s Theatre Workshop
10AM – 1PM
$30 per student
Participation in the children’s theatre workshop is open to children ages 7 – 12. The three-hour workshop includes structured storytelling games, creating characters, team-building ensemble activities, and a chance to learn about all of the creative departments involved in putting on a show. The cost is $30 and includes a ticket to the Magic Owl Children’s Theatre performance.
Children’s Theatre Performance Workshop
1PM – 4PM
$50 per student
2017 Performance Workshop has a Musical Theatre theme. It focuses on developing strong performance skills, while emphasizing self-confidence, self-expression, creativity, concentration, self-esteem, individual style, public speaking, and group cooperation skills leading up to a public performance. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their acting, vocal performance, and/or dancing skills. Participation in the Performance Camp is open to children ages 7 – 12.
