A Message from TLP Board and Staff

Posted on Jun 17, 20 in TLP News

We at Timber Lake Playhouse believe that Black Lives Matter! We share the outrage and grief over the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and the countless others who have been recent victims of racial violence.  We believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to combat injustice. We believe theatre has an important role in cultivating a civil and equitable society. When we build an inclusive and diverse culture that encourages, supports and celebrates diverse voices, we are empowering all people to bring the best version of themselves to life. Theatre creates opportunities to bring together multiple communities to share in a common experience, listen with empathy, and learn about ourselves as we deepen our bonds to each other.

TLP will continue to listen, learn and build a culture where we ensure a safe and inclusive workplace for all of our staff and artists. We will continue to create opportunities of exploration and community-building for our artists, students, patrons, employees and volunteers.

TLP was founded on bringing change and diversity to our community. We stand by that and always will.

In Solidarity,
Timber Lake Playhouse
